These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of ShortStoryEngine (the Service). ShortStoryEngine is operated by Broomerr Media Ltd, and "we", "us", and "our" refer to Broomerr Media Ltd throughout. By accessing the Service, creating an account, or claiming a purchase, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
ShortStoryEngine takes a story you upload and prepares platform-ready versions of it, inserts AI disclosures where a market requires them, warns you about conflicts, and tracks your submissions in one place.
We prepare; you submit. The Service never submits your work to any platform, magazine, or contest on your behalf. It never logs into a third-party site as you. Every submission is an action you take yourself, knowingly.
We do not guarantee acceptance. No tool can. Nothing here is a promise that a market will publish your work.
Market information is best-effort. The directory records each market's rules, windows, fees and AI policy, and shows you when each entry was last verified. Markets change their rules without notice. You are responsible for complying with the rules of any market you submit to — please check the market's own guidelines before you submit.
You keep all rights to everything you upload and everything the Service generates from it. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to store your files and produce the formatted versions you ask for. We claim no ownership, no licence to publish, and no right to use your work for anything else.
The AI features run on your own OpenAI or Anthropic key. Any usage charges are between you and that provider. You are responsible for keeping your key within their terms.
Access is sold through Warrior Plus as two one-time purchases, and is also subject to the checkout terms shown at the time of purchase:
There is no recurring billing anywhere in this Service. We never store your card details.
If your annual access ends and you do not buy again, nothing is deleted. Every story, submission record and generated file stays exactly where it is, and stays readable and exportable. You return to the free plan, so paid features lock and stories beyond the free limit become read-only. Buying again restores full access to all of it.
Refund requests and payment disputes are handled according to the terms shown on the sales page and through the payment platform. Please read our Refund Policy. When a valid refund or dispute notification is received, paid access is removed immediately, while the account, transaction, and audit records needed to evidence the purchase are retained.
You must not:
The Service, its design, software, documentation, templates, and market directory are protected by intellectual property laws. Third-party names and trademarks — including the names of the platforms and magazines in the directory — remain the property of their respective owners, and their appearance in the directory does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.
If you believe material made available through the Service infringes your rights, contact support with identification of the protected work, the material concerned, your contact details, and an explanation of the claimed infringement.
The Service links to and relies on third parties, including the payment platform, AI providers, hosting providers, external support services, and the markets in the directory. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party websites, availability, policies, or content.
We may maintain, update, suspend, replace, or discontinue any part of the Service. We do not guarantee that the Service, a particular template, or a generated file will always be available, error-free, or compatible with future changes at any market or platform. For significant changes affecting paid access we will tell you by email.
The Service, templates, documentation, and generated files are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We make no guarantee about business results, revenue, royalties, book or story sales, readership, acceptance by any publication or platform, fitness for a particular purpose, or results from using any generated file. Examples, testimonials, or earnings statements are illustrative only; your results depend on your own skills, actions, market conditions, and other factors.
Information supplied through the Service — including the market directory, AI policy records, and submission guidance — is not legal, financial, tax, or other professional advice. Obtain appropriate professional advice where required.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost revenue, loss of data, business interruption, or the cost of substitute services arising from use of or inability to use the Service.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where liability can be limited, our aggregate liability relating to the Service or a purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant product or membership during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
You can stop using the Service at any time. You can permanently delete any story yourself from inside the app; to close your account entirely, contact support and we will action it.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where you breach these terms, misuse the Service, create a security risk, infringe another person's rights, or where paid access has ended. Where we suspend an account for a breach, we will tell you why. Provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, records, and disputes survive termination where applicable.
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, security requirements, or business practices. The updated date will appear at the top of this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, and the purchase terms shown at checkout form the agreement governing your use of the Service.
